Birds available for adoption
Arthur
Species: Cockatiel
Age: Approx. 5 years
Gender: Male
Personality: Friendly and affectionate
Adoption Fee: $44
About: Arthur is a 5-year-old male Cockatiel with soft yellow feathers, red cheek patches, and a pied pattern. He has lived with the same owner for most of his life in a calm household and has formed a strong bond with his primary carer. He can be shy with new people at first, but once he feels safe, he is affectionate, enjoys shoulder time, and loves being close while you go about your day.
Arthur has a sweet, sensitive nature and thrives on routine and gentle interaction. He enjoys whistling and vocalising, including phrases like “hop up” and “have a drink.” He can be more vocal in the mornings and when there is activity around him, and will often sing or call out to wild birds through the window. He is target-trained using a clicker, understands simple cues like “spin,” and will step up when encouraged with treats.
He spends much of his day relaxing in and around his cage, which is usually left open so he can choose when to rest, eat, or fly short distances around the room. He enjoys sitting on a window perch for fresh air and watching the world go by, and is used to moderate household noise such as conversation, music, and daily activity.
Arthur eats a balanced diet of maintenance pellets as his main food, with vegetables offered daily including corn, carrot, snow peas, green beans, and the occasional herb. He also enjoys a foraging seed mix and special treats like shaved almonds, sunflower seeds, millet, and the occasional bit of rice. He prefers shreddable toys, cardboard, bamboo, and wooden items, and especially enjoys foraging activities that keep his mind busy.
He would suit an experienced home that understands cockatiel behaviour and can provide patience, consistency, and daily interaction. He would particularly thrive with a feathered friend and in a home where he can remain flighted. He will come with his main cage, travel cage, toys, and a starter supply of his current food to help him settle into his new environment.
Pollo
Species: Green Cheek Conure
Age: Approx. 7 years
Gender: Male
Personality: Vocal, chatty and loves to learn
Adoption Fee: $44
About: Meet Pollo – a seven-year-old male Green Cheek Conure with a grey head, green body, and flashes of red through his belly and tail. He’s intelligent, playful, and full of personality.
Pollo is being rehomed due to unavoidable life changes, an interstate move, apartment living, and a new full-time job mean he can no longer get the time and interaction he needs. He thrives on companionship, enrichment, and freedom to explore.
Friendly once comfortable, Pollo can be a little nippy, but he communicates clearly with his body language. He’s extremely vocal, chatty, and loves to learn new words, often using his near-30-phrase vocabulary to interact with his humans. He enjoys shredding toys, foraging, playing, and curling up for cuddles, scratches, or naps on the couch.
Pollo is fully flighted, enjoys baths, and benefits from regular outdoor time where he can listen to and chatter with wild birds. He has previously lived with another conure and loved the company, so a home with suitable birds is ideal. Solo living could work if someone is home frequently to give him plenty of attention.
His diet includes pellets, fruit, veg, and occasional seeds for foraging. He gets hormonal in spring, which is best managed with routine, extra sleep, and reduced treats.
Pollo would suit an experienced owner who understands conure behaviour and can provide enrichment, companionship, and consistency. In the right home, he’s a deeply rewarding, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining companion.
LERA
Species: Cockatiel
Age: Approx. 12 months
Gender: Female
Personality: Sweet, gentle and affectionate
Adoption Fee: $44
About: Meet Lera – a beautiful cinnamon cockatiel under 12 months of age, with a gentle, affectionate nature and a strong bond to her people. Still very much a baby, she is curious, loving, and learning about the world one step (and wingbeat) at a time.
Lera is friendly and enjoys human interaction, especially head scratches and quiet time perched on a shoulder. She can be a little selective and occasionally bitey when overstimulated, very typical behaviour for a young cockatiel still building confidence and communication skills. She is not aggressive and responds best to calm, patient handling.
She is being rehomed in her best interests, as she has developed separation anxiety as a solo bird. Despite receiving lots of companionship, she struggles when her primary person is out of sight and becomes distressed, calling until reunited. It’s believed she would thrive in a home with another bird companion, where she can form healthy bird-to-bird bonds and feel more secure and settled.
Lera’s right wing is still regrowing after being clipped prior to purchase. Her strength is improving, with flights becoming longer, though landings can still be a little wobbly. With time, space, and encouragement, she is expected to continue developing her flight skills.
She is in good health, vet checked, and currently enjoys a balanced cockatiel diet of pellets, fresh vegetables, fruit, with seeds and treats offered in moderation and for training.
Lera would suit a quiet but engaged household with bird experience, where she has room to fly indoors, regular interaction, and ideally another cockatiel or compatible small bird for companionship. Rehoming her is a difficult decision, but one made with her long-term wellbeing and happiness at heart.
KOSMO & LEO
Species: Quaker Parrots
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male & Female
Personality: Quirky quakers, intelligent and lively
Adoption Fee: $88 (pair)
About: Meet Kosmo and Leo, two inseparable Quaker parrots with bright personalities and a beautiful bond. Kosmo and Leo are a devoted little duo who do everything together. They spend their days chattering to each other, exploring their space, and staying closely connected. True to their Quaker nature, they are curious, alert and always keen to be part of the action.
Both parrots enjoy supervised flight time, where they can stretch their wings and explore before settling back in together. They also respond well to enrichment and positive interaction, making them wonderful companions for someone who enjoys engaging with intelligent, active birds.
Leo brings extra charm with his vocal abilities. He says “peekaboo” and offers the occasional soft mumble, adding a playful, interactive spark to their day. Kosmo complements him perfectly with classic Quaker confidence and quirks.
They are currently on a mixed diet and will benefit from a home committed to giving them a healthy balance of pellets, seed and vegetables.
Kosmo and Leo will thrive with someone who has experience with parrot training or is genuinely interested in learning. Their new home should be one that values their bond, provides meaningful enrichment and can offer plenty of time, patience and affection.
PORRIDGE
Species: Galah
Age: 8 years old
Gender: Male
Personality: Soft natured with a big heart
Adoption Fee: $66
About: Meet Porridge who is an eight-year-old male Galah with a soft nature and a big heart. Rescued as a baby during the Cudlee Creek fires, he’s had a challenging start to life and is now looking for a home that can truly meet his emotional needs.
Porridge is friendly but shy, and he thrives on company. He needs someone who is home most of the time and able to give him regular out-of-cage time, reassurance, and calm interaction. He enjoys preening and affection, though this can sometimes become a little too enthusiastic, so an experienced bird person who understands boundaries and behaviour cues will suit him best.
He can say his name, give kisses, and whispers a mysterious phrase that always keeps people guessing. Porridge has learned to fly since being rehomed, which is a huge step forward, but he still lacks confidence and has not yet mastered safe landings. With patience, encouragement, and consistency, he has the potential to continue building his skills.
Porridge currently plucks feathers under his wings and on his legs, which is likely linked to stress and unmet social needs. A stable, attentive home with routine, enrichment, and companionship will be essential to helping him feel secure and supported. He does well around dogs, though a home without cats would be preferable.
He is covered at night, fed in the morning, and has fresh water daily. While his current diet is seed-based, his new home should ideally support a gradual move toward a more balanced, Galah-appropriate diet alongside enrichment and mental stimulation.
Porridge needs an experienced owner who understands parrots and has the time, patience, and heart to help him become the best version of himself. In the right home, he has the potential to truly blossom into a deeply rewarding companion.
WASABI & CHILLI
Species:Green Cheek Conure & Maroon Bellied Conure
Age: 11 & 9 years old
Gender: Unknown
Personality: Conure cutie patooties with big personalities
Adoption Fee: $88 (pair)
About: Wasabi and Chilli are a bonded pair of conures who bring equal parts charm, intelligence, and character. At 11 and 9 years old, these two have built a strong connection with each other and with the humans they trust, and they are looking for a new home together due to an upcoming interstate relocation.
Wasabi, a pineapple Green-cheeked Conure, is the social butterfly of the duo. She adores people and often behaves as though she is one herself. She loves pats, belly rubs, lying upside down, dancing, and being right in the middle of whatever is happening. She is highly intelligent, expressive, and full of energy. Like many conures, she can become jealous and overstimulated, which means she may give an occasional nip if her boundaries are missed. This is infrequent and predictable with experience, but it does mean she needs an owner who understands conure behaviour and body language.
Chilli, a Maroon-bellied Conure, is more bird-oriented and takes her confidence from Wasabi. She is affectionate in her own way, enjoying sitting on shoulders, bathing in cupped hands, and perching nearby rather than being touched. She loves showers, often choosing to sit on a head or nearby while the water runs. Chilli is gentle, observant, and happiest when following Wasabi’s lead. If Wasabi moves, Chilli follows.
They are currently used to a routine that includes time in a small aviary during the day and coming inside in the evenings. They enjoy foraging activities, pellets available at all times, daily chop, small amounts of seed, and fruit. Enrichment and mental stimulation are a big part of their day, from searching for hidden food to interacting with their people. They are not formally trained but will step up most of the time and respond well to routine and familiarity.
These two are deeply bonded and must stay together. They would be best suited to an experienced home that understands conures, their intensity, and their need for interaction, enrichment, and structure. An aviary with an indoor and outdoor mix would suit them beautifully, and they may also do well in an aviary setting with other compatible birds.
They can be vocal when their favourite human arrives home, but when left alone they are calm and settled. They thrive on company and being part of the household rhythm, even if that just means background noise and presence.
An aviary can be provided if helpful.
Wasabi and Chilli are affectionate, intelligent, demanding, hilarious, and deeply rewarding companions. For the right home, they will bring endless personality, connection, and joy.
ALFIE
Species: Peking Duck
Age: Approx. 6-7 years
Gender: Male
Personality: Sweet and gentle
Adoption Fee: $66
About: Meet Alfie – a lovely male Pekin duck, estimated to be around 6–7 years old, with a calm nature and a friendly disposition. He’s been part of a family environment for many years and has been well cared for, handled regularly, and is comfortable around people.
Due to a change in family circumstances, Alfie is now looking for a new home where he can continue to live a safe, happy, and well-supported life. He originally belonged to one family member and has since been lovingly cared for by another, but long-term care is no longer sustainable. Finding the right home for him is the priority.
Alfie currently lives in an aviary and enjoys being taken out regularly. He is easygoing and approachable, with no biting issues, and has shown himself to be a calm and pleasant companion. His diet is simple and familiar, consisting of wheatbix, oats, lettuce, duck feed, and plenty of fresh water.
He would suit an active home with appropriate outdoor space, where his needs as a duck are well understood and met. A secure aviary or outdoor setup with regular human interaction would be ideal, allowing Alfie to continue the lifestyle he’s used to.
If you have the space, time, and care to offer this sweet duck a stable and thoughtful home, Alfie would love to meet you.
BABY
Species: Galah
Age: 9 years
Gender: Male
Personality: Sweet, selective and slightly shy
Adoption Fee: $66
About: Meet Baby – a nine-year-old male galah with soft pink and grey plumage, looking for a loving, experienced home. He’s a sweet, selective, and slightly shy bird who thrives on gentle attention and company. Baby enjoys coming out of his cage to explore, stretch his wings, and interact with his human friends.
This clever galah loves head scratches and under-chin rubs, and he often calls out when he wants company. He has a healthy appetite and enjoys a varied diet of seeds, nuts, fruit, vegetables, salads, pasta, and treats, with pistachios and the core of an apple being particular favourites. Baby also enjoys a gentle misting with tepid water, which keeps him refreshed and happy.
Baby is used to a daily routine that includes cage-free time under supervision, morning and evening feeds, and a quiet space for rest. He sleeps under a blanket in his cage at night and enjoys fresh food and treats throughout the day. His ideal home will continue this structured, loving care, providing both interaction and space for him to feel secure.
Baby would suit a calm, patient, and experienced owner who can provide attention, affection, and a safe indoor/outdoor environment. He will flourish in a home where he can be part of daily life and receive consistent love and enrichment.
ANGEL & TROUBLE
Species: Cockatiels
Age: 15 & 25 years
Gender: Male
Personality: Affectionate and gentle
Adoption Fee: $88 (pair)
About: Meet Angel and Trouble are a bonded brother duo, aged approximately 15 and 25, who are looking for a loving new home. Both birds are affectionate with people they know and need a gentle, patient environment to help them settle and thrive.
Angel is light grey and enjoys landing on arms, shoulders, or fingers. He’s playful, loves to whistle, and can mimic humans and other birds. Trouble is a darker grey and is unable to fly, so he needs a safe, calm environment. He enjoys gentle petting on his nape and has a sweet, relaxed personality once comfortable. Both birds may bite strangers if anxious, so they will do best in a calm home where introductions are slow and gentle.
During the day, Angel and Trouble enjoy time out of their cages but also have access to them for safety and rest. Trouble is easy to put away, while Angel can be playful and sometimes needs encouragement to settle. Trouble has a unique way of expressing worry, he may hold his wing down and appear limp, but he is not hurt; it’s just his way of communicating stress.
Angel and Trouble have previously been cared for by their long-time owner, and while some details of their preferences are unknown, they have clearly been well-loved, spoken to daily, and engaged with as part of the household routine. They enjoy whistling, playing, and companionship and will flourish in a home where their needs are understood and attended to.
ESME & ERROL
Species: Parrotlet
Age: ~3.5 years
Gender: Female and Male
Personality: Sweethearts
Adoption Fee: $88 (pair)
About: Meet Esme (blue) and Errol (rare green) – a delightful pair of parrotlets whose bond and personalities will melt your heart. Small but full of spirit, they share a beautiful friendship, part affection, part comedy duo, and bring endless joy to those around them.
Errol is a gentle sweetheart who loves to be close to his people and would happily spend the day perched on your shoulder if Esme didn’t insist on keeping him in line. Esme, bold and full of character, is the first to seek attention and never shy to express herself. Despite her sass, she’s affectionate and curious and incredibly endearing once you get to know her.
They adore spending time with their humans, often flying over to see what’s going on, whether you’re working, cooking, or relaxing. In the evenings, they love to snuggle together and have been known to fall asleep tucked inside a comfy T-shirt (preferably an old one, as they love to nibble holes!).
Their gentle chirps and playful chatter fill the home with life, and though they have the occasional squabble, it’s all part of their charm. Esme enjoys her baths, while Errol is still figuring out the technique. They love their fresh foods, especially chillies, capsicum seeds, passionfruit, and walnuts, and are happiest when they can fly, explore, and be included in daily life.
Esme and Errol would suit an experienced bird lover who understands parrotlets’ lively, intelligent nature and can offer them time, attention, and a safe indoor space to explore. They’re perfect companions for someone who works from home and would love a cheerful pair of feathered friends by their side.
KIKI
Species: Eclectus
Age: Approx. 5 years old
Gender: Female
Personality: Full of personality and a real food connoisseur
Adoption Fee: $99
About: Meet Kiki – a stunning female Eclectus, soon to celebrate her 5th birthday in November. Full of personality with just the right touch of sass, she’s ready to find a home that can keep up with her needs and quirks.
Friendly and social, Kiki enjoys sitting on a shoulder and will sometimes lean in for a neck scratch. She loves water, showers, and basking in the sunshine. Food is her true passion (the way to her heart is definitely through her stomach) and she has a reputation as a little “soup chef” when it comes to her meals.
Kiki can fly and she occasionally talks, though she’s more known for her opinions than her words. She has a unique right foot with a few missing toes, so she requires adaptable perching and a feeding platform, but this doesn’t hold her back from getting around confidently.
Her current owner loves her dearly, but recognises that Kiki’s needs have outgrown what they can provide. Kiki would thrive in a home with other birds and would especially enjoy the company of a male Eclectus to bond with. She needs an experienced carer who understands parrots and Eclectus, with the time, enrichment, and resources to ensure she continues to flourish.
An aviary set-up would be ideal, and her feeding platform can be provided as part of her rehome. A small outdoor aviary may also be available if helpful.
