About: Oscar, known affectionately as Ocky, is a 35-year-old male Sulphur-crested Cockatoo with a personality that is nothing short of legendary. He is being rehomed by a family who love him dearly but whose circumstances have changed, and they want to make sure he finds a home where he gets the time and attention he deserves.
Ocky is a talker of the highest order. His repertoire includes G’day, G’day mate, G’day mate how’s it going, Let me out I’m really a duck, What’s a matter you, What do you want, Thank you, Thank your mother for the rabbits, Rock and Roll give it to the chickens, and Bugger the chickens. He also burps, sneezes, laughs, blows kisses, and coos like a pigeon. He has additionally picked up a little colourful language from the neighbours, which comes as part of the package. He is, in short, an absolute entertainer.
Once he gets to know you Ocky is wonderfully friendly. He will climb you like a tree and loves a tickle under the wings and feet. He can be shy initially with new people, so patience and a calm approach will help him settle. He does have one known preference worth noting: he is not a fan of sunglasses.
Ocky is an outdoor bird who loves to dig, swing on his chains, and spin circles on his perch while announcing Rock and Roll. When it rains he hangs upside down on his cage to catch the water, and he is a big fan of the sprinkler. He eats a varied diet including wild bird seed, fresh vegetables, sunflower seeds, and corn on the cob. He also enjoys the occasional piece of dry dog biscuit, a bit of sausage, or a chop bone as a treat.
He has never had a vet check, so a health assessment on rehoming would be recommended, though he presents as a healthy and active bird with no known issues.
Ocky would suit a home that can offer him outdoor space, plenty of enrichment, and most importantly time and consistent human interaction. He has been an only bird and is used to being the centre of attention, so a home where someone is around regularly and has the patience and experience to match his big personality will help him truly settle and thrive. For the right person, Ocky will be one of the most entertaining and rewarding companions imaginable.
BEAN

Bean is a bird who forms strong attachments to his person. He is affectionate and interactive with those he trusts, enjoying kisses, shoulder time, and a good scratch, and he will step up reliably for someone he feels comfortable with. He has some words and mimics the sounds of the cockatiels he has lived alongside, and he has even mastered doing a poo on command before being let out for an indoor fly, which is as impressive as it is practical. He does have a selective nature and can bite those he is less familiar with, so a patient and experienced handler who is willing to invest time in building that trust will be key.
Bean is an unclipped bird who enjoys a daily fly and play indoors when the mood takes him, along with time outside in his cage. He tolerates having his cage hosed down twice weekly and is a bird who has been well cared for and well socialised within his home environment.
Bean has been experiencing feather plucking in recent months, the cause of which has not yet been identified. He has received veterinary attention and has been trialled on hormone blockers and anti-inflammatory medication. His new owner will need to be aware of this ongoing condition and be prepared to continue working with a vet to manage and monitor it.
Bean eats a wet and dry lorikeet mix along with fresh fruit daily, and his dietary needs are straightforward. He would suit an experienced bird owner who understands the complexity of birds who take time to warm up, and who is committed to giving him the patient, consistent care and companionship he needs to truly thrive.
JASPER

Jasper has a wonderfully sociable history. He grew up going to work with his owner every day, was well accustomed to people coming and going, and has been happily around dogs, cats, children, and a variety of people throughout his life. He used to talk and mimic sounds, and while he has become more withdrawn in recent times, his owner believes this reflects his current environment rather than his true personality, and that the right home will bring him back to himself.
He is cage protective but settles well once he is out, and is friendly and relaxed with people, children, and other animals once comfortable. He has never shown health issues and has no known conditions, though a vet check upon settling into his new home would be worthwhile given he has not had one previously.
Jasper does best with tree branch perches to satisfy his love of chomping on wood, and he is excellent with puzzle feeders, which he adores. His diet includes pellets as a preference, along with seed and a generous daily serve of fresh fruit and vegetables. He particularly loves grapes, apples, capsicum, beans, mandarin, chilli, and corn, including tearing apart the cob himself. He also travels well, having spent years commuting to work with his owner.
He will ideally come with his full existing cage setup, giving him a familiar space to settle into from day one. Jasper would suit an active and experienced home where he has plenty of enrichment, human interaction, and the time and patience to help him rebuild his confidence and rediscover the sociable, talkative bird he has always been. Ghost is friendly and comfortable around people and children, and has a sweet and expressive nature. He loves to cuddle into hands and has an endearing way of communicating what he wants. When he is ready for a head scratch he will lift his claw to his head to let you know, and when he needs time to settle he simply asks for space to wake up and explore before interaction begins. Reading his body language and following his lead will go a long way in building a trusting relationship with him.
He loves fresh vegetables and walnuts, and has a particular fondness for drinking water from a cup or straight from the tap. His last vet check was in 2021 and he is in good health with no known issues, though a check-up upon settling into his new home would be a good idea.
Ghost will come with his large portable cage and a transport cage, giving him familiar surroundings from day one. He would suit a quiet home where he is the only bird, with an owner who has the time and patience to let him settle at his own pace and tune into his gentle cues. Shadow is a shy and cautious bird who has not had the opportunity to be well handled or socialised in his current environment. He can hiss when people come close to his cage, spreads his wings if he feels threatened, panics during food and water changes, and will bite if he feels cornered. He is not a hands-on bird at this stage and will need someone who understands nervous bird behaviour and is willing to work slowly and patiently to build his trust over time.
He does have a sweeter side. Shadow enjoys singing and loves to watch wild birds from his cage, which is brought outside on nice days to give him that connection with the world beyond his enclosure. He previously had a cage mate who has since passed, and how he would respond to other birds is currently unknown. His diet has been primarily seed based as he has shown little interest in fruits and vegetables, though this may change as he settles into a more stimulating environment.
Shadow would suit an experienced bird owner who appreciates that some birds simply need more time, space, and quiet consistency to come out of their shell. He is not the right fit for a busy or unpredictable household, but in a calm and patient environment, Shadow has every chance to gradually build confidence and show more of who he truly is.
BERTIE

About: Bertie is a cheerful yellow and green male Budgerigar with blue spots on his face and an age that is unknown, being rehomed by a devoted owner whose health means she is sadly unable to keep him. He has been well loved and cared for, and his owner hopes he will find not only a wonderful new home but perhaps a little friend to keep him company.
Bertie came to his current owner as a rescue bird and is not used to handling. He will bite if hands come too close, but is perfectly content and relaxed in the company of people when he feels unthreatened. He responds warmly to a familiar face near his cage and is sociable with other birds, having previously had a companion. He would likely benefit greatly from having a bird friend again.
What Bertie lacks in handleability he more than makes up for in personality. He is a busy, active little bird who loves chirping, playing with toys, and listening to music. He has a rather endearing bathing quirk too; he will attempt to bathe in his drinking container but refuses to use a proper bath, though he absolutely delights in being misted with a hose during cage cleaning. He also has an entertaining habit of hovering mid-cage and fluttering his wings in one spot, much like a hummingbird.
Bertie is kept in a large cage positioned near a window during the day for breeze and entertainment, and is covered at night. His diet is straightforward; seed, fresh water, and occasional greens.
Bertie would suit an experienced bird owner who understands and respects that not all birds enjoy handling, and who can offer him an active, stimulating environment where he can chirp, play, and be his entertaining self. A home with another bird or the possibility of a companion would be a wonderful bonus for this bright little character.
MYRTLE & LEMONDROP

Both birds are in good health with no known issues. They have been kept indoors near a well-lit window, covered at night, and have had regular checks of their feet and beaks with nothing of concern noted. Their owner has consistently provided calcium, charcoal, and iodine supplements alongside their food, and has maintained their cage with appropriate avian treatments since 2023. While they have not had a formal vet check, they present as healthy, well-maintained little birds.
Mr Myrtle and Mrs Lemondrop eat a standard budgie seed mix supplemented with dried fruit, and their care requirements are straightforward. They are friendly birds with typical budgie charm and have been kept together as a bonded pair throughout their lives, so they must be rehomed together.
This sweet little pair would suit a home that can offer them an indoor setup with good natural light, consistent daily care, and the company of someone who appreciates the cheerful energy that a bonded pair of budgies brings to a household. About: Coco is a four-year-old male Cockatiel with yellow plumage and rosy cheeks, and a personality so big it barely fits in a bird his size. He is being rehomed purely because his owner is moving to a property that does not accept pets, and it is clear from everything shared about him that he has been deeply loved and very well cared for.
Coco is a true companion bird in every sense. Hand raised and completely at home with people, he loves nothing more than being involved in whatever his person is doing. He will ride on your shoulder through the housework, supervise the cooking, sneak a cheeky taste of whatever is on the bench, and whistle enthusiastically at the vacuum cleaner. He has a particular fondness for his own reflection and can often be found admiring himself in any shiny surface he can find, whistling a cheerful rendition of If You’re Happy and You Know It to his mirror image.
Coco is sociable with humans, children, and other birds and animals, and is not a biter. He loves head rubs, being whistled to, and having a bath under the tap when the mood takes him. He will stretch his wings with a fly around the house from time to time but mostly just wants to be wherever you are. He puts himself to bed when it gets dark and his cage door is left open during the day so he can come and go as he pleases.
His diet is predominantly seed with a feeder available in his cage at all times, supplemented by whatever he can charm out of whoever is cooking dinner. He is in good health with no known issues, and has his nails trimmed regularly as needed.
Coco is an indoor bird through and through and will not suit an outdoor or aviary setup. He needs to be part of a household where he has daily attention, affection, and interaction, and where someone is home enough to give him the company he thrives on. He would suit a quiet to moderately active home and would do best as the only bird where he can be the centre of attention, which, based on his personality, is exactly where he believes he belongs. For the right person, Coco will be an endlessly entertaining, utterly devoted little companion.
PEARL
Species: Quaker

About: Pearl is a two-year-old male albino Quaker Parrot with a big personality and an even bigger need for company. He is being rehomed with great reluctance by a family who clearly adore him; his bonded sister passed away suddenly and Pearl has struggled significantly with the loss, making it clear that he needs a flock environment to truly thrive.
Pearl is a social, affectionate bird who is happiest when he is part of the action. He loves being in the same room as his people, will sit contentedly in his cage with the door open, and is perfectly quiet and settled when he has company nearby. Without it, he will make his feelings known. He has recently made some lovely personality breakthroughs, including allowing head and face scritches and preening, which speaks to the trust and bond he is capable of building with the right people. He does have a selective nature and has shown some aggression toward one member of his current household, so understanding his boundaries and reading his cues will be important.
Pearl is a bright and capable little bird. He knows step up and several tricks involving rings and object manipulation, is flighted and trained to fly to specific locations during training sessions, and is working on a recall command. He does not bite but enjoys a gentle nibble, and his beak can occasionally need a trim for comfort. He tries hard at vocalising but does not yet talk clearly.
Pearl has anxiety which has historically presented as feather plucking. He has previously required a cone and pain medication to manage this, and is currently one month into a trial of Fluoxetine to address the underlying anxiety. He is also on Gabapentin and Meloxicam, which he takes readily, and CBD oil may be explored if needed. His plucking is significantly reduced when he has other birds to interact with and preen alongside, making a multi-bird household a strong priority for his wellbeing. A household with other Quakers would be ideal.
Pearl eats a varied and nutritious diet including a vegetable mix with broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, silverbeet and cooked quinoa, along with pellets as a staple. He loves capsicum, chillies, and carrots, and sunflower seeds are reserved as a treat. He loves to forage and responds well to enrichment and training.
He will come with his medium enclosure, and his current family also have a large cage and travel cage, along with a supply of pellets and treats, which may be available to the right adopter. Pearl’s ideal home is an active household with other birds, ideally other Quakers, where he can be part of a social environment, receive gentle and patient handling, and continue to build on the trust and training he has already developed. He deserves a home that understands his needs and will give him the stability and companionship he is clearly longing for.
JOEY

Joey is a pink and grey male Galah aged over 30 years, looking for a very special person to call his own.
He has been a much-loved companion for decades, most recently as the devoted pet of a lady who has sadly passed away. Joey now finds himself in need of a new home through no fault of his own, and finding the right match for him is the priority.
Joey is a talker with a personality to match. He can say hello, ask who’s a good bird, request a kiss, and throw in the occasional cough and a cheeky word or two for good measure. He is relatively tame and can be handled, and he hops out of his cage readily for a walk and to take his medicine. He does have a selective nature and can bite, so confident and experienced handling will be important. He has a strong preference for undivided attention and is not fond of other animals or birds competing for his people’s time, which makes him best suited to a single bird, single pet household.
Joey has arthritis in both knees and one hip and carries some extra weight, so his diet is carefully managed. He eats two teaspoons each of parrot and budgie seed per day along with a small piece of corn and a couple of pieces of carrot, has access to pellets, and occasionally enjoys thistles and grass. He receives daily pain relief and tonic in his water. He also has an unknown growth in his groin which his vet is aware of and which does not appear to be impacting his quality of life. His vet, Adelaide Bird and Exotic Animals, has advised that he must live indoors, which he has done for at least the past ten years.
Joey loves to work on pieces of wood and will chew through anything he can get his beak on, so he cannot be left unsupervised out of his cage. He enjoys coming outside in his cage when someone is working in the garden, and a regular supply of dry, almost rotting sticks would make him very happy. He comes with his own cage which he is well accustomed to, and ideally this would move with him to help ease the transition.
Joey is looking for a quiet, experienced home with one dedicated person who has the time, patience, and knowledge to give him the attention and care he needs in his senior years. He is not a bird for a busy or unpredictable household, but for the right person he will be a characterful, entertaining, and deeply loyal companion. Joey has lived a long and loved life and deserves nothing less than the same in whatever time he has ahead.
ELSA

Elsa loves being near her people. She doesn’t always need to be on you, but she likes to be close, watching what’s going on and inserting herself into daily life wherever possible. She will zoom around the lounge at high speed, follow people around while they get ready in the mornings, and investigate anything that looks interesting, including the crumbs on your plate. She also has a particular talent for squeezing into tight spaces out of pure curiosity.
In her cage she enjoys playing with hanging wicker balls with bells, and she eats a standard cockatiel grain mix with no special dietary requirements. She had a vet check in January 2026 and is in good health with no known issues.
Elsa would thrive in an active home where she has room to fly, explore, and be part of daily life. She would suit an aviary setup or a home where she has access to open indoor space, and she will do best with people who have time to include her in their day. For the right home, Elsa will reward you with her cheerful company and endless entertainment.
BLUEY & BINGO

These beautiful little birds have plenty of personality. They are friendly and will happily perch on a finger, making them lovely companions for someone willing to spend time with them. One of them is unable to fly, but that certainly doesn’t slow him down. He loves being let out each afternoon or evening to run around and explore, making the most of his daily exercise in his own unique way.
Bluey and Bingo enjoy a routine and start each day with a mix of seed and pellets. They are enthusiastic eaters, with a particular love of mealtime, and can often be found happily chewing on the cage wire between snacks. While they generally get along well with other budgies, they can occasionally be a little grumpy, adding to their endearing personalities.
Bluey and Bingo would thrive in a patient home that understands their individual needs and can provide a safe environment, daily enrichment, and plenty of love. With their sweet nature, amusing quirks, and gentle companionship, they are sure to bring plenty of joy to their new family.

Hummie is the more outgoing of the pair and loves human interaction. He enjoys stepping up, sitting on your shoulder, and spending time with people once trust is established. He can be affectionate, social, and quite chatty, though he can also become frustrated if his routine is disrupted or he feels uncomfortable. With patience and consistency, he forms strong bonds and becomes a loving companion.
Schooner is around 33 years old and has had a more challenging past, spending much of his life confined before being rescued. He is slower to trust and prefers people to respect his space, but once comfortable he enjoys gentle head scratches and social interaction on his own terms. He has a wide vocabulary, loves mimicking sounds, and is a thoughtful, observant bird.
Schooner is unable to fly and has some feather loss from past stress, so their future home will need to provide a safe, accessible environment. Together, Hummie and Schooner would suit an experienced, patient home that understands parrots and can give them the time, routine, and care they need to thrive.

Like many Quakers, she is bright, expressive, and knows exactly what she likes and dislikes. She has been a much-loved companion, but recent changes in her home environment mean she is now looking for a quieter setting where she can feel secure and thrive.
Sage has formed a strong bond with one member of her current household and prefers to choose her people carefully. She can be wary of handling and has a history of biting when she feels uncomfortable or unsure, so she will need a patient and understanding adopter who respects her boundaries and is willing to work at her pace. With the right person, Sage has the potential to build trust and deepen that special one-on-one bond she clearly values.
She has recently experienced a number of household changes, including being left alone more often during the day and adjusting to the presence of a new kitten, which has understandably increased her stress levels. Because of this, Sage would benefit enormously from a calm, stable home without cats or other predators, where she can feel safe and relaxed again.
Sage would suit an experienced bird owner who understands parrot behaviour and appreciates that building trust can take time. She may not be an immediately hands-on companion, but for the right person, Sage offers the rewarding opportunity to earn the trust of a highly intelligent and deeply individual little bird.
